Sports Development Assistant - Lauren Hutchings
I became part of the Active Devon team in March 2014 and am the Sport Development Assistant for Teignbridge and Torbay. My role currently revolves around assisting the Development Co-ordinators and their projects including Active Communities, Sainsbury’s School Games events and many more.
I played International Hockey at U18, U21 and senior level, with my highest achievement of squad training for the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. I have also competed nationally in Swimming and Lifesaving and was named GB number 1 having won Gold in 2008. With centring my life on my sport throughout my GSCEs and A Levels, I decided not to go to University and pursue a career in the Active Leisure Industry.
In the years before Active Devon, I have worked as a Swimming Pools Supervisor and become a REPs Qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. I gained a Level 3 Award in Awareness of Active Leisure and Learning and have lived a year in Australia working for Fitness First on Bondi Beach.
I am a budding and keen sports enthusiast. I am currently in training for my first female ‘Bikini Fitness’ Body Building competition and hope to step on stage for the first time in April 2015.
