Sports Development Assistant - Katy Leonard
I joined Active Devon in June 2014 as the Development Assistant, working alongside the Development Coordinators for a range of projects. Along with my experience as a Marketing and Events Coordinator and working in the private leisure sector, I recently completed my degree at the University of St Mark and St John (Marjon) where I studied BA (Hons) Coach and Physical Education. During my time at Marjon I played for their netball team, representing them in the BUCS league for three years, and taking on the role as club captain for two years. In addition to my university netball I also played netball for a local club, Pilgrims, in the PDNL League. Along with my degree I have also gained qualifications as a UKCC Level 2 netball coach and a REPS Level 3 Personal Trainer.
I help run and also play in the Exeter mixed adult Tag Rugby club that takes place each Friday evening and is currently in its tenth consecutive year. From a very young age I have always been a very keen sports enthusiast and enjoy playing most sports. I am passionate about trying to help and encourage others to get involved in sport so they can have the opportunity to gain as much enjoyment as I have!
