Development Coordinator - Scott Kendall
I joined Active Devon in August 2014 as the Sports Development Coordinator for East Devon. As part of the role I work on a range of projects including Sportivate, Satellite Clubs, Active Communities and Opportunity Sport Clubs. To facilitate this work, I work with a range of partners, which includes Schools, Colleges, Universities, National Governing Bodies (NGBs), Local Sports Clubs and third sector organisations. Prior to this, I studied at the University of St Mark and St John where I completed a BA (Hons) in Sports Development and a Masters in Applied Professional Studies (Sports Development). Alongside this, I also worked at the University as a Sport and Business Development Officer (formally titled RELAYS Sports Development Coordinator) and as the Graduate Research Assistant for the Sports Development, Outdoor Learning and Business department. During this time, I managed the Plymouth Festival of School Sport, Mini Varsity Competitions, Masterclass Events and successfully secured a Sport England University Sport Activation Fund worth over £300K. I have also co-authored a few academic journals and presented at academic conferences. For the last three years I have also worked for the Royal National Institute for the Blind as an Activity Coordinator. As part of this job, I support the delivery and coordination of sport and physical activity events for visually impaired children.
Outside of work I enjoy playing golf and badminton and coach badminton sporadically at a local badminton club. I like to keep fit and enjoy running at National Trust parks, as well as cross country cycling.
