Active for Good Volunteer Awards 2022 – Nominations Now Open

Nominations are open until 31st August 2022.

Unpaid volunteers in Devon have made an amazing contribution to sport and physical activity for their local communities.  By working hard to make activity happen, they have contributed to the improved health and wellbeing of people within our county, so, we are celebrating their success by launching the Active for Good Volunteer Awards!

Louise Evans, lead for Active for Good said:

“All the incredible work volunteers do to help get people moving needs to be recognised and rewarded.  We want to say thank you to those who have gone the extra mile for the people of Devon.  Nominations are now open until 31st August, so please submit your entries to highlight their achievements and show how valuable they are.”

Anyone over the age of 18 who spends time doing something unpaid that encourages individuals to be more active in Devon can be nominated.  This can include volunteering through public, private and voluntary organisations as well as informally in their community.

There will be four main awards given across Devon which will be judged by members of Active Devon and partner organisations –

  1. North Devon District and Torridge
  2. East Devon District, Mid-Devon District and Exeter
  3. West Devon District and Plymouth
  4. South Hams District, Teignbridge and Torbay

There will be one final award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Inclusion’ which will be chosen at the judge’s discretion from entries received.  This will be based on the contribution of an individual promoting inclusion and full community participation through their volunteering support.
