Education for Health is offering FREE online training in asthma care for children and young people.
Asthma is the most common long-term medical condition in children in the UK, with around 1 in 11 children and young people living with asthma. The UK has one of the highest prevalence, emergency admissions and death rates for childhood asthma in Europe, and findings show that 46% of deaths could have been prevented.
It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure good asthma care for children and young people with asthma.
What Will the Workshop Cover?
This tier 1 training will cover the following:
- recognising poor control
- recognising triggers
- recognising an acute attack
- managing an acute attack
Who Is the Training For?
The training is relevant for all professionals who have responsibility for children – particularly club leaders and sports leaders, social care, education staff, childcare providers, leaders of children’s clubs and leaders of all U18 sports clubs.
How Long Does the Training Take?
The training is free, takes 45 minutes and is easily accessible through e-learning for health. It is available on an ongoing basis.
