West Cliff School based in North Yorkshire certainly turned things upside down when they decided to adopt beach school status. Now children attending the school will take part in at least 10 differentiated beach activities per year and over their time in the school they will complete 70 in all!

The case study about their progress is a valuable read for all those wondering about the how and why of a greater participation in physical activities. Find out more here

If that doesn’t convince you or maybe you are worried about all that extra work doing risk assessments and coming up with the ideas for activities; then take a look at their handbook that includes all the nitty gritty as well as the way the activities teach the children about their local environment and blend into the curriculum perfectly.
