Be Inspired with the Sport England This Girl Can National Campaign
This Girl Can is a Sport England national campaign to get women and girls active, regardless of shape, size, ability and background.
Whether you’re cycling to work, literally running the school run, or getting muddy with your pooch in the park, this campaign is about celebrating all the amazing ways you fit exercise into your life.
Funded by The National Lottery, This Girl Can believes that there’s no right way to get active – if it gets your heart rate up it counts.
Fit Got Real
Fit Got Real builds on the campaign’s achievements so far. It’s specifically reaching out to women of all backgrounds and ethnicities who feel left behind by traditional exercise. Take a look at the Fit Got Real video.
Helping Women and Girls Overcome the Fear of Judgement
Fear of judgement, lacking confidence, not having enough time – the Sport England research shows there are a mix of practical and emotional pressures that stop many women from being as active as they would like.
In fact, 40% of women aged 16 and over are not active enough to get the full health benefits of sport and physical activity, compared to 35% of men. That’s why in 2015, this ground-breaking campaign was born.
Take a look at the Sport England insight pack, Go Where Women Are, which includes up-to-date research exploring the relevant motivations, barriers and triggers to getting more women more active.
